We miss the Rutland website and cannot wait for the new one! Altho we are in Michigan, we have family in Forman (Hansons, Zirnhelts) so we like to keep up on what is going on out there. We have made it out for several Uff Da days, and were there for the re-opening of the new Rutland Cafe - I am so hopeful that the man who did The Rooster Crows will be back regularly. He was my favorite Thursday reading on the internet.

I will be watching the Rutland site for the grand unveiling!

Just wanted to say thanks for all the work that goes into making this a great celebration! I have been returning home for this for that last several years, and bringing my oldest boys with me. My sister Allsion and I even have a tradition of dancing the waltz every visit. Thanks again, and keep up the great work!

I'm gonna check this out - we were just talking about the transportation issues at our last Horizons meeting. And getting healthy on the flip-side - sounds good.

Have you heard of "Rails to Trails"? I think the program may be through the Nat'l Park Service. I'd be happy to hear on a blog about your trail and how you went about doing the project. Bowdon has a closed RR through town and we have thought at times how nice to link all the towns along the track by a trail that visitors would traverse and also stop in the towns to eat, sleep, and tour. It all fits well with nature tourism and birding and good health. Good luck!

Thanks for the comments. I just added the site visitor counter late yesterday, April 29. Flyers and "business cards" have been posted and distributed to promote the site. The site count is an attempt to see what type of traffic and readers we are getting.

I see I am site visitor #44. I blog for mckenzie.communityblogs.us and I would recommend you also pursue readers with as much vigor as bloggers. We don't count our readers, and I think you are right to do so. You get positive reinforcement immediately. But ultimately, in order to do community the good of weaving it closer together, you need the readers to read, become hooked on reading, and then become insistent and confident enough to comment!!!!! You are on the right track so keep the steam up, engineers!! Dale

This article and pamphlet is just beautiful! What? An individual membership that works out to $10 per month?? And family memberships just as cheap...affordable! You are a gift to your community! I'd just love to come over and practice dancing with you, too. God bless your efforts. Do keep up the good work for community, for limiting the confines of poverty and developing leadership!!
